Our StoryIn today's era in which "extreme" is mainstream, taking an ancient technology and bringing it up to date was a big challenge, but one we welcomed. We tried hard to maintain the familiarity of the gravity sled while applying new age materials, manufacturing techniques, and user experiences. To attract new sledders, as well as adults who remember sledding as a child, we had our work cut out for us in visual design as well as functional engineering. And after three prototype versions, multiple patent applications, many test hours, programs to reduce the weight of the sled and intense industrial design work, we unveil our flagship sled model, the Hammerhead. The Hammerhead looks and performs like nothing you've experienced in sleds in the past, yet it is attractive. It's at home in the backyard, or ski slope. Our work, however, has just begun. Our long range plan is to bring sledding to the forefront of everyone's thinking – not just the action sports aficionados—but families and young people. When the choice on Sunday afternoon is a video game or an easy way to get fresh air and exercise, we want you to jump on the Hammerhead for a carve. So this is about more than selling a sled—it is about bringing back a winter activity in a big way. We will be encouraging team riders and events, slope side venues, and races for pinks– all with a sled that feels good and looks very 21st century cool. CherryMax Sleds is privately held and based in Vermont, where we're blessed with the best testing ground anywhere. Our staff is friendly and waiting to hear your story or see your photo with your Hammerhead sled. Our intellectual property is extensive and protected under U.S. and International patent and trade laws. For licensing information, please contact us.
